Nestlings


    The other day when we went over to pick some more saskatoons at Swanson’s, Jim showed us this White Crowned Sparrow nest.   It was located at knee level in the raspberry patch, and the mother flew around in a panic as got close to the nest to take a peek.
    I was a bit surprised to see it because I figured that all the year’s newly hatched baby birds had long since grown and flown the coup.  Maybe this is the second brood of the summer.
