Halfway up McBride Peak there is an overlook and picnic area. The fire didn’t damage the viewpoint overlooking the Valley and McBride, but most of the trees that surrounded the overlook and picnic area are toast.
It looks like the the trees surrounding the outhouse weren’t consumed by the flames, but they were killed by the ground fire nevertheless, leaving all of their needles a bright rust color.
