Wondering About My Old Green Truck

Above you see my painting “Old Green Truck”.   Over the years I have featured sections of my 1977 GMC pickup in a handful of paintings.  When I owned the old Forestry truck, eventually it got to the point where I wasn’t using it any more and it just sat rusting in my pasture.  Gary Moore, a truck enthusiast and neighbor, noticed the truck sitting there unused and inquired about it.  I told him he could have it if he would cart it away.
Gary came over, lifted the hood, messed around with the engine a bit and in a half an hour got the GMC running and drove it up the road to his place to join the other trucks in his collection.  (My painting “Studebaker” features one of Gary’s other pickups.)
Gary and Mabel Moore are the people who had their house and property destroyed in the recent mudslide.   Since that happened, I have often wondered about the fate of my old truck.  I’m pretty sure it must have gotten buried like so much of the Moore’s other possessions.
The other day when we drove past the destruction, I did see the overturned pickup (photo below), but that one looked like was red; one of Gary’s other trucks.  When I see Gary, I will ask him what happened to that dear old truck of mine.

  1. I think I 'd wait to ask him, he probably has a little more on his mind. :) Is there home okay?
