Living in a place with very distinct seasons, we are constantly watching for signs that the seasons are starting to change. Yesterday morning when I walked outside, I noticed through the smoke we have lived through for a good part of the summer, that there had been a snowfall up on the Cariboo Mountains. That took me by surprise, because even though we had gotten rain overnight, I hadn’t realized that it had gotten cold enough for the precipitation to be falling as snow on the mountaintops.
Seeing the fresh snow is a sign for me to get busy doing those things that need to be done before winter, even though fall has not yet officially arrived.
