My brothers and sisters, who had traveled up to Canada to visit us, left yesterday, As probably could have been predicted, today our skies, which had been filled with thick smoke during their whole visit, cleared up, and we are back to seeing our mountains again.
It was wonderful to be together with my brothers and sisters again. It was such an enjoyable visit. One of the things that happens during our get togethers is that each of us takes a turn at preparing an evening meal.
My wife started things off on the day of their arrival with a lasagna. The next day my brother Rob fed us an exotic Hainanese Chicken Rice meal. Roy, who is a member of the Bean of the Month Club, and receives a bag of a different kind of beans every month, shared his delivery and used it to make bean soup. On Wednesday we feasted on leftovers from the previous meals.
Thursday we ate beside the Fraser River at the Tete Jaune Lodge, and then on Friday my wife and I made our weekly Friday Night Pizza (Photo above). Nancy did the cooking honors on Saturday with a quiche (Photo below) accompanied with fried potatoes (freshly dug potatoes from the garden). For dessert my wife provided us with her delicious almond tart (bottom photo).
Our meals were always very enjoyable, not only because of the savory meals that were shared, but also for the lively fellowship with my siblings as we ate. It was all such an enjoyable week of visiting.
