A couple of days ago I was hanging clothes on the clothesline to dry, and I couldn’t help but be distracted from the task by the bird activity taking place around me. I have some swallow boxes up under the eves of the house, and the adult swallows were busy darting back and forth with food for the fledglings in the bird house. I ran in to get my camera and took the picture of the two open mouths eagerly waiting for their food.
Meanwhile over in the garden, the hummingbirds where busy flying from bloom to bloom on the Maltese Cross flowers slurping up the nectar with their long tongues.
