The name of my blog is “Color & Light”, the two elements that attract me to the images I paint. This morning I really couldn’t come up with any subject to blog about. By the time I got done painting, I still hadn’t come up with a subject, but as I was putting my painting back on the easel, I happened to look out of the window and noticed the wonderful display the sunshine was putting on to the trees at the far end of the pond. I rushed downstairs to get my camera, then outside, to take a photo. I was very happy with the way it turned out.
I love the illuminated yellows of the leaves that are still left hanging on to some of the cottonwoods. I loved the subdued effect of the colors of those things not illuminated. The gray low cloud in the sky tied together nicely with the things in the rest of the photo. I liked the softness of the photo.
I do feel so fortunate to be able to just look out of the window and be inspired.
